This summer, try something truly unique. Feel the warm floor under your bare feet. Warm up slowly in that small patch of morning light filtered through the window and begin to move, to stretch your creative muscles alongside PUSH Physical Theatre’s performers.

You feel frustration – can’t quite do that technique yet. You look at the student next to you, she catches your eye and you see the same frustration on her face. You both smile. Try again, yes, that’s it – you’re getting it.

actors, dancers, mimes, movers:

Study motion theatre (physical theatre, non-traditional partnering, dance, corporeal and illusionary mime, physical acting, comedy) as well as the physical techniques and styles developed by PUSH.

Discover methods of revealing your message that connect with the deepest parts of your audience.

Live and study with the PUSH Company in Rochester, NY.

Learn by doing: spend every day in the studio developing a solid, practical skill set.

Stay for one week and open up an exciting new method of communication and performance. Stay for two weeks and uncover the advanced techniques and knowledge that will take your art to the next level.

the details:

The PUSH Summer Intensive takes place in Rochester, New York, June 21st - July 3rd, 2010.

To be be eligible you must:

1. Be 18 or over by June 20th
2. Fill out this application and medical release form and mail with a non-refundable deposit of $200
3. Pay your complete balance by June 20th (discounts available for early payment, see below)

Cost:

First week only - $800 USD

Both weeks - $1,250 USD
(Cost includes housing with kitchen facilities)

Discounts:

Apply before March 1st and receive $50 discount
Pay your complete balance before May 1st and receive $100 discount

Schedule:

June 20^th: You travel to Rochester

June 21^st-26^th: Intensive week one

June 27^th: Well-deserved day off

June 28^th-July 3^rd: Intensive week two

July 3^rd/4^th: You travel home

Daily class from 9:00am - 4:30pm. Evening discussion and lab sessions on Mon, Wed, Fri.
